Financial Strategy & Operations Associate — Frontier AI | Seed Stage | New York City | $170K–$220K + Equity – 27780307

Most companies hire a finance person and a technical person and hope they talk to each other. This role is for the rare individual who is both — and doesn’t need either label.

I’m recruiting a Financial Strategy & Operations Associate for one of the most unusual early-stage AI companies in the market right now. They use frontier AI to simulate entire human populations — predicting behavior with near-perfect accuracy across consulting, marketing, and CPG. Their customers aren’t buying analytics dashboards. They’re replacing the science of market research itself. The company is seed-stage, backed by Accenture Ventures, targeting 8x ARR growth this year, and operating with a team of 34 people who are building something genuinely new.

The founding team is 17, 20, and 21 years old. That’s not a typo, and it matters — this is a company where intellectual horsepower, not tenure, determines your trajectory.

The Role

You’ll be the first finance hire, reporting directly to the VP of Finance, and your mandate is intentionally broad. One morning you’re building a financial model for an investor update. That afternoon you’re writing a Python script to automate the billing workflow. The next day you’re in a deal desk conversation, then reviewing a lease negotiation, then integrating Salesforce data into PostgreSQL. This is not a role that fits neatly into a job description — it’s a role for someone who is genuinely energized by a wide surface area and can bring rigor to all of it.

What you’ll own:

  • Financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic materials for leadership and investor communications — LBOs, convertible debt analysis, scenario planning
  • AI-powered internal tools and automations — Slack-integrated ROI agents, workflow automations, and process integrations built without engineering support
  • Finance tech stack ownership: Salesforce, PostgreSQL, NetSuite, Ramp, Tabs — designed and maintained by you
  • Operational workflow design: partner onboarding, billing, renewals, deal desk — systematized and documented so the company stops running on tribal knowledge
  • Special projects across HR, legal review, lease negotiations, partnerships, and JVs — the operational backbone of a fast-growing AI company

The Company

They are rethinking how human behavior is predicted and understood at scale. Using frontier AI, they simulate entire populations — modeling how people will respond to campaigns, products, messaging, and market conditions with a degree of accuracy that traditional research methods can’t approach. Their clients span consulting, marketing, and CPG, and the product is already delivering results that are changing how those industries make decisions.

Seed stage. Accenture Ventures backed. 34 people. 8x ARR growth target this year.

Compensation & Location

💰 Base Salary $170,000 – $220,000
📈 Equity 0.05%–0.08% — seed-stage pricing with significant upside
📍 Location New York City — 5 days/week onsite
🏢 Stage Seed · 34 employees · Accenture Ventures backed
🛂 Visa & Relocation Available — discussed case-by-case

What We’re Looking For

  • ~2 years at a top-tier investment bank or private equity firm — you know how to build a financial model, run a scenario analysis, and communicate financial strategy to senior stakeholders
  • 1–2 years in operations or finance at an early-stage startup — you’ve seen what it looks like when the processes don’t exist yet and you’ve helped build them
  • Real technical ability — you write SQL and Python, not just talk about them. You’ve built internal tools, automations, or integrations without needing an engineering ticket
  • Quantitative undergraduate degree — CS, math, engineering, or physics from a top university
  • A genuine interest in AI and how the technology actually works — not just what it produces
  • Based in or willing to relocate to New York City, onsite five days per week

Not the right fit if: your finance background has no programming or tooling capability, you’ve spent your career in narrow specialized roles at Series C+ companies, or a broad unstructured mandate sounds uncomfortable rather than exciting.

The Path Forward

The VP of Finance is building a lean, high-impact team that stays small and efficient as the company scales. The person who takes this seat has a clear line to Head of Finance as the organization grows. At a company targeting 8x ARR with a product that has no obvious comparable, that trajectory is real.
