Founding Recruiter — Enterprise AI Infrastructure | Sequoia-Backed Series A | New York City | $160K–$210K + Equity – 27780429
Every enterprise AI deployment runs into the same wall.
The models are intelligent. But every business runs on specific processes that live in people’s heads, stale documents, and years of ticket histories — institutional knowledge that generic AI has no way to access, no way to learn, and no way to execute against. The result is AI that thinks well but can’t actually operate your business.
The company I’m recruiting for is the first to solve that problem at the infrastructure level.
They build AI agents that reverse-engineer how a business actually operates — learning from existing systems, workflows, and documentation to create executable knowledge: structured, white-box instructions that AI agents can act on. Not a black box. Not a generic assistant. A system that runs your operations the way your business actually does them. The result is the only enterprise AI platform that closes the gap between model intelligence and company-specific execution — and the market is already moving toward it.
HubSpot, ASOS, and Cushman & Wakefield are live customers. Many of them became customers before the investors had the opportunity to invest. That’s the signal.
The company came out of stealth in March 2025, closed a $23.8M Series A backed by Sequoia, HVC, and Pub Spot Ventures, was founded by ex-Palantir operators who know what enterprise transformation actually demands, and is 28 people today — doubling every six months. The founding recruiter seat is open in New York City.
The Role
There is no recruiting infrastructure. No sourcing team. No coordinator. No ATS configured. No interview loops documented. This is a pure founding seat — just you, the founders, and the most technically demanding engineering hiring market in the world.
The mandate is 4–5 engineering hires per month across New York and London, built entirely through outbound sourcing. The engineers you need to find are not on job boards. They are contributing to repositories on GitHub, publishing in AI research communities, engaging in technical conversations on Twitter/X and Reddit, and building in public in spaces that require genuine technical curiosity to navigate. You’ll be expected to find them there, engage them meaningfully, conduct initial technical screens that evaluate AI background and engineering depth, and close them on a company that most of the market hasn’t heard of yet.
What you’ll own:
- End-to-end technical recruiting with outbound sourcing as the primary engine — LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Twitter/X, Reddit, and every creative channel that reaches the engineering talent you need
- Initial technical screens — evaluating language experience, AI relevance, and engineering fit before passing to the engineering team
- Full recruiting infrastructure built from scratch: Ashby ATS, sourcing workflows, interview loops, scorecards, and candidate experience standards
- New York engineering headcount as the immediate priority, with London as a parallel track
- Real-time calibration with founders and hiring managers in the office — you’re in the room when decisions happen
- A sustainable pace of 4–5 engineering hires per month as the company doubles again
The Company & Culture
This is a deeply technical team of engineers, AI researchers, and strategists founded by ex-Palantir leaders who have operated at the frontier of what enterprise software can actually do. The culture is high-intensity, high-ownership, and builder-first — everyone joins as an individual contributor, nobody is hired with the promise of managing people, and growth into leadership happens organically as functions scale. The team works in-office five days a week across New York and London. There is a shared belief here that exceptional people are the foundation of everything great they’ll build — which is exactly why this recruiting seat matters as much as any engineering hire they’ll make this year.

What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of technical recruitingat early-stage startups (Series A or B) — you’ve owned engineering searches end-to-end as a solo or founding recruiter, not as part of a structured TA team
- ML, infrastructure, or backend engineering hiringin your recent history — you know what a strong AI engineer looks like and can conduct a credible initial technical screen
- Creative sourcing beyond LinkedIn— GitHub, Twitter/X, Reddit, technical communities. You’ve made hires from those channels and you can explain exactly how you did it
- Experience building recruiting infrastructure from zero— ATS, sourcing workflows, interview loops, scorecards — because none of it exists here yet
- The output orientation to sustain 4–5 engineering hires per monthwithout support infrastructure
- Based in New York City, ready to be onsite five days per week alongside the founders
- A technical or CS background that earns credibility in early engineering conversations
Not the right fit if: your most recent experience is at Google, Meta, or a large tech company without meaningful early-stage exposure, you’ve only worked in an agency context without in-house founding ownership, or your pipeline depends on inbound applicants.
Why This Seat
The founding recruiter who joins a Sequoia-backed company at 28 people — with enterprise customers who arrived before the investors did, a doubling pace measured in months, and a founding team that built at Palantir — will define how this company hires. Every engineer they close shapes the product. Every hire they make shapes the culture. And in an organization where leadership grows organically from execution, the person who builds the talent engine at this stage has a clear and credible path to owning the entire People function.
