The Opportunity

My client is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join a critical seat on their US HR team, reporting to the Director, Human Resources. This is a rare opportunity to blend strategic HR partnership with hands-on tactical execution at a growing, international business — with the chance to leave your own imprint on people strategy, culture, and employee experience across the US, and potentially on projects with global scope.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders and executives across the US organization and its regional districts, with occasional collaboration alongside the company’s global HR team based abroad.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Business and People Strategy Partnership (40%) — Serve as a strategic thought partner and trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating business strategy into workforce, talent, and employee experience plans; advise on organizational design, leadership effectiveness, culture, and change readiness; support annual workforce planning, budgeting, merit, and talent review processes.
• Employee Experience, Engagement & Culture (20%) — Own the employee experience lifecycle from onboarding through engagement, development, and retention; design and execute engagement initiatives, surveys, and listening strategies; coach leaders on practices that build trust, inclusion, and performance.
• Talent Strategy, Workforce Planning & Organizational Effectiveness (15%) — Partner with leaders to align talent acquisition and workforce planning with business strategy; influence hiring strategy and role design; collaborate with Compensation & Benefits on rewards that support attraction and retention.
• Employee Relations, Risk Management & Trust Stewardship (15%) — Provide strategic guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes; identify and manage people-related risks.
• HR Operations Leadership Enablement & People Insights (10%) — Own core HR systems for data accuracy and governance; deliver executive-level reporting on headcount, HR KPIs, and workforce metrics; drive continuous improvement across HR processes; support the expat population with consistent, compliant HR service.

What They’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of Human Resources experience, with a track record of partnering directly with senior leadership on HR deliverables
• Proven ability to execute on assigned goals, not just support initiatives from the sidelines — real, demonstrable examples of leading HR initiatives or driving change
• Experience navigating and building credibility through a difficult people or business issue with senior stakeholders
• Comfort balancing strategic HRBP work with hands-on tactical execution on a lean team
• Proficiency with Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), project/deadline management, and experience collecting, synthesizing, and summarizing workforce data
• Strong problem-solving instincts — able to identify true root causes, consult across multiple parties, and proactively flag issues before they escalate
• High integrity, composure under pressure, and the willingness to constructively push back, including with leadership, when it’s the right thing to do
• A genuine team player and customer-service mindset — someone who fosters collaboration and is energized by helping employees and internal partners
• Comfortable being on-site in Virginia Beach, VA four days a week

Compensation & Logistics

• $95,000–$100,000 base salary
• Excellent benefits package, including 401(k)
