Lou Maki has over 30 years of combined sales and recruiting experience. He began his career as a sales executive in the banking industry and technology sectors and for the last 15 years has been successfully recruiting top talent for Information Technology clients across the nation. Lou has developed an outstanding methodology for using his personal sales experiences and recruiting expertise to identify top candidates for our clients. Lou specialty lies in find and securing top talent for our clients in the software application, both mobile and traditional sectors, as well as, CRM, ERP, and other popular software applications.
Prior to joining Cube Management Lou was the Founder and President of Technology Partners an information technology recruiting and consulting firm providing, permanent placement, contract sales, marketing and temporary staffing services. His clients included Fortune 1000 companies, Northwest Data Centers, and software and hardware vendors nationally and internationally. His duties included channel and global account development selling consulting and web services resulting in revenue growth exceeding $10 million.
Lou began his recruiting career with a boutique information technology and engineering recruiting firm, CR Elwood & Associates as an Information Technology Recruiter. He specialized in executive recruiting and account development in the Portland, OR market. His primary accounts consisted of mainframe data-centers within Oregon. Lou progressed from a recruiter trainee to a senior top producer.
Lou’s corporate management experience ended at Control Data Corporation (CDC) a $4 billion manufacturer of large mainframe computers and peripheral storage devices. With the introduction of the PC, CDC opened150 retail computer stores in the US during a 3-year period to compete with IBM business Centers, Sears Business Centers and several others. Lou was responsible for setting up two business centers in Portland, OR and the day-to-day management of their operation under the direction of the local District Manager. Lou led the sales and store administration and built the business from start up to over $1M in sales annually.
Lou honed his sales skills at National CSS, Inc. (NCSS) the fourth largest computer timesharing company in the US. As a Sales Representative for the Northwest Lou was part of a team that took the company’s revenue growth nationally from $12 million to $160 million. Lou’s primary responsibilities included selling computer timesharing, hardware and software.
Lou began his career with US Datacorp was a wholly owned subsidiary of the US Bancorp specializing in production and sale of micro-fiche to large financial institutions. The company also sold automated payroll and small company financial systems. Lou completed US Bancorp’s two year management training, and sold automated financial services to bank commercial customers throughout the Oregon Territory.
Lou holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration and Marketing degree from Oregon State University, and is an avid Beavers football fan to this day. Lou and his wife Sandi have two children and they live in Vancouver, WA.
